ABDA Board of Directors for 2016
Official Site Of Aiea Ballroom Dance Association
Aiea ballroom Dance Association is a nonprofit organization for people who enjoy dancing and socializing.
Do you dance? If not, would you like to learn to dance? In any case whether you dance like Fred Astaire, or Fred Flintstone, Aiea Ballroom Dance Association is the place to be. Formed in 1955, we are the first non-profit dance organization here in Hawaii. By joining us you will have access to lessons taught by skilled professional dancers. Then you can practice and enjoy dancing at our many dances and friendly socials. Dances are held at the Ala Wai Palladium, and other various venues around the island. Take a look at our dance and lesson schedules, and then come join us.
Have you ever had someone bump into you while on the dance floor, and they don't even bother to say excuse me? Have you ever had to make an emergency stop in the line of dance because some one was standing on the floor or walking across it? Have you ever been seated watching the dancing or an exhibition and had people come and stand in front of you and block your view? Have you ever finished a dance and go back to your seat and find it is gone? There is a whole list of "Have you ever's" , much too long to list here. So what is the point? Simple common sense, courtesy, and a little dance etiquette, can eliminate most if not all of these "have you ever's". Take a look at our list of Tips for social dance, tell your friends to take a look. Then, try to apply some of them. Don't forget a smile and an "excuse me", or "thank you", go a long way.
